HASTINGS — Hastings Community Theatre Presents “Monty Python’s Spamalot” — A Hilarious Quest for the Holy Grail.

Get ready to laugh your coconuts off as HCT proudly presents Monty Python’s Spamalot, the outrageously funny musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Tony Award-winning musical clip-clops onto the HCT stage for two weekends.

Directed by Erik Nielsen, with music direction by Amanda Boyd, Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their ridiculous quest for the Holy Grail. Along the way, they encounter a chorus line of knights, divas, cows, killer rabbits, and yes—even the dreaded Knights Who Say “Ni!”

Even with all the absurdity, Spamalot carries a touch of heart. You don’t need to be a Monty Python fanatic to enjoy this show. This show is for every person who enjoys a good laugh. Sometimes, we all just need to be reminded to ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’—and this show does just that. Twice, including the reprise!

This production features a stellar cast of familiar faces and newcomers to HCT alike. Colin Sandall stars as the valiant King Arthur, joined by newcomer Kirk Layton as the timid Sir Robin, Vic Ashby as the wise Sir Bedevere, Connor Zimmer as the dashing Sir Galahad, and Ben Salazar as the fun, but bloodthirsty Sir Lancelot. Jackson Dittmer brings reason as Arthur’s faithful sidekick, Patsy, with Katrina Hamel taking on the role of the glamorous and commanding Lady of the Lake — backed by an ensemble whose harmonies might just shatter glass.

Rounding out the cast are a host of talented performers in multiple roles, bringing to life everything from dancing knights to taunting Frenchmen, flying cows, and one very determined rabbit. Together, this cast and crew deliver a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud adventure that’s as musically impressive as it is delightfully absurd.

Spamalot is packed with unforgettable songs, including “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” and “The Song That Goes Like This.” Audiences can expect a riotous blend of satire, showbiz sparkle, and full-throttle absurdity that’s pure Monty Python magic. Don’t miss your chance to experience this side-splitting comedy!
