NEBRASKA — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested 13 impaired drivers as part of an enforcement effort around St. Patrick’s Day.
Troopers participated in a national campaign focused on keeping roads safe from impaired driving from March 13 through March 17. During the campaign, troopers also responded to blizzard conditions in eastern Nebraska and assisted with wildfire response in the western part of the state.
In addition to the 13 drivers arrested for driving under the influence, troopers also issued citations for speeding (288), driving under suspension (19), open alcohol container (8), minor in possession of alcohol (9), no seat belt (10), and improper child restraint (6). Troopers also performed 145 motorist assists during the campaign.
This effort was made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
