Elwood has cancelled it’s 4th of July fireworks show.
Elwood Fire and Rescue department says in a tweet that due to exceptionally dry conditions in the area, the fireworks show on the 4th has been cancelled outright, and the show at Johnson Lake the day prior is set to be postponed until a later date.
The department says the cancellation and postponing of the events are all in interest of public safety.
