The first case of Monkeypox has been identified in the state of Nebraska in Douglas county.
The Department of Health and Human Services identified in a Nebraskan resident who was confirmed positive from a orthopoxvirus test.
The specimen is expected to confirmed as Monkeypox by follow up CDC testing.
The resident was a male in their 30’s with recent international travelling.
To protect the residents privacy the DHHD will not be releasing further details.
