A jury duty scam is making its way through buffalo County.
The scam involves someone pretending to be a deputy, who tells their victim that they will be arrested for not appearing for jury duty.
The scammer then tells the victim that they can pay the fine, by purchasing gift cards, and avoid being arrested.
The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office said they will not request fine payment with gift cards, and anyone wondering if they have missed jury duty can call the court at 308-236-1228
