The fires in Red Willow County is over half contained. According to the Red Willow Fire Department, the fire just north of McCook is around 75% contained, and will remain so until at least Friday.
Fire officials say that wind shifts have kept crews busy monitoring the fire, and morning shifts generally have more work than evenings.
Tuesday morning the department mentioned there was a break out past the fire line.
Due to terrain and the amount of unburned fuel material, officials are not changing to containment percentage until at least the weekend.
