Blood donations decline in the summer, but the need for blood and platelet transfusions doesn’t take a summer break.
There is a constant need for blood and the American Red Cross is asking the community to help prevent a blood shortage by donating at the upcoming Rock ‘N Roll-Up Your Sleeve Blood Drive in the Tri-Cities. Donors have opportunities to donate at one of three locations and all who come to donate will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
The event will take place August 3, from Noon-6 p.m. at the YWCA, on Fonner Park Road in Grand Island, Ft. Kearney Chapter, on 48th Street in Kearney and First St. Paul Lutheran Church, on Burlington in Hastings.
