On Thursday the University of Nebraska Regents gave their approval for Phase II, to build a new facility as part of UNK and UNMC partnership for a Rural Health Education Building on UNK’s campus.

Construction is expect to begin September 2023 for the $85 million dollar facility, and be completed July 2025.

The new facility will include state-of-the-art classrooms, extensive simulation and clinical skills laboratories for pre-clinical education and bring new options such as genetic counseling, and respiratory care.

Phase I was completed in 2015 when the newly built $19 million Health Science Education Complex, and opened its doors and offered nursing and a variety of allied health profession training programs on the UNK campus.
