The Nebraska State Patrol arrested two people after drugs were located inside two foam statues.
On Thursday afternoon August 18, troopers contacted occupants of a vehicle stopped at a rest area near Cozad.
During the stop an odor of controlled substance was detected by a K-9 and prompted a vehicle search.
A vehicle search revealed a hollowed out foam statue filled with 59 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and 9 pounds of suspected fentanyl.
Occupants 31, Adriana Gonzalez and 51, Ildefonso Rivera-Leon both of San Ysidro, California, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and possession with intent to deliver. Both were lodged in Dawson County Jail.
