Non-profit organization Waterford is bringing their pilot program, Waterford Upstart, to 200 families on Nebraska and provide access to at-home programs to help prepare young children prepare for kindergarten.
The research-based and third-party validated Waterford Upstart program is providing the tools needed to 200 children in Nebraska to succeed in the classroom. A computer is provided to families, which they get to keep at the end, and internet service if needed. Online 15-minute instructions are given five days a week, with an optional math-and-science component, and comes with a coach offering tips that help caregivers continue engaging their children offline. The program comes at no-cost to families.
Registration for Waterford Upstart is open for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2023. The limited spots are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis when caregivers apply at waterfordupstart.org.
