Lexington Police Department arrested a man Saturday for motor vehicle homicide after striking a man with their vehicle.
In a press release, on Saturday at approximately 4:54am first responders were dispatched to South Adams and Oak streets in Lexington to a call about a pedestrian struck by vehicle.
Law enforcement also responded to the call.
The 59-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, Salvador Canales, 19, was arrested for willful reckless driving, and motor vehicle homicide.
The Nebraska State Patrol is assisting the Lexington Police Department in the investigation.
