The Nebraska Cattlemen announced September they are seeking applicants for Director of Government Affairs to join. The deadline to apply is quickly approaching and ends October 14, 2022.

The Director of Government Affairs will lead efforts to advance Nebraska Cattlemen policy at local, state, and federal governments. This position reports to the Executive Vice President. Specific duties may include the following and more:

  • Represent Nebraska Cattlemen policy on various legislative, regulatory, and governmental affairs.
  • Coordinate research concerning the impact of existing and proposed legislation or regulations on beef cattle producers.
  • Develop and disseminate timely legislative and regulatory reports to leadership and membership.
  • File necessary lobbying reports per Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist and support members in developing policy.

The position includes travelling around the state and out. The position will be housed in Lincoln and is a salaried position. Strong deference will be given to candidates with experience in government relations and/or regulatory work and excellent writing skills. Salary commensurate with experience.
