LINCOLN – An upset brewed early and was pulled off by the #6 seeded Kearney Girls basketball team, downing the #3 Lincoln Southwest squad on their home court with a 47-34 win.
The Bearcats advance into the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals setting up a rematch from Dec. 9 with #2 Lincoln High. Tip-off is set for 4:15 PM with pregame on KGFW beginning at 4 PM.
With the win, Kearney guaranteed themselves a second contest on Saturday. With a win, the Bearcats will move into the championship match facing the winner of #1 Lincoln Pius X and #5 Lincoln Northeast. A loss drops the Bearcats to the third place game.
