Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a Cozad woman following a pursuit in Central Nebraska on I-80.
Troopers arrested driver, Mikayla Schooley, 25, of Cozad for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, possession of cocaine, and outstanding warrants Wednesday night.
On Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. troopers attempted a traffic stop on Hyundai Elantra driven by Schooley near Overton on I-80. She refused to yield and fled at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated.
Schooley drove until another trooper successfully deployed stop sticks, slow down the vehicle. She exited I-80 through the Lexington interchange and attempted to re-enter I-80 before she was finally stopped through tactical vehicle intervention by a trooper.
Schooley refused to exit the vehicle for several minutes, until a pepperball was deployed at which time she exited the vehicle.
She was taken into custody and lodged in Dawson County Jail.
