Two Kearney High School students were selected to have their work on display at the 26th Annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition.

Every year students K-12 from around the country submit their pieces for a chance to showcase their work in the annual ceramic competition. The exhibition takes places in a different city each year, this year it will be held March in Cincinnati, Ohio in conjunction with the annual the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference. From the 1,317 entries, only 152 were selected.

Kearney High sophomore Jenna Mapes and senior Maria Buck had their work selected among the hundreds of entries.

Mapes’ artwork is a ceramic flower titled ‘Demeter.’  Buck’s selected piece is a ceramic bust entitled, ‘Not my fault’.

The juror this year was Bobby Scroggin
