SIOUX CITY, IA – The Tri-City Storm defeated the Sioux City Musketeers by a final score of 5-2 Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center. Trevor Connelly (2), Cale Ashcroft, Alex Bump, and Tanner Adams netted goals in the victory for Tri-City. Patriks Bērziņš notched the win in net for the Storm. The Storm returns to action tomorrow evening in a road matchup against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:05pm CT.

Ryan Conmy scored his Western-Conference-leading 24th goal of the season less than five minutes into Saturday’s opening period to give Sioux City a 1-0 lead. The goal was netted even-strength, and was assisted by Ty Hanson. Cale Ashcroft scored his fifth goal of the year at 8:58 of the 1stperiod to bring the game to a 1-1 tie. Jake Richard notched an assist on the play. Sioux City outshot Tri-City 12-10 in the opening period.

Trevor Connelly scored the only goal of the 2nd period to give the Storm a 2-1 advantage in the matchup. The goal was scored on the powerplay at 14:13 of the period, and was Connelly’s ninth goal of the season. The Storm outshot the Musketeers 7-3 in the 2nd period, and Tri-City carried a one-goal lead into Saturday’s final period.

Trevor Connelly notched his second goal of the game, and tenth goal of the season less than one minute into the 3rd period to give the Storm a two-goal lead in the matchup. The goal was scored fifty-five seconds into the period, and was assisted by Dane Dowiak and Sebastian Törnqvist. Alex Bump scored his tenth goal of the year at 8:39 of the period to give the Storm a 4-1 lead in the game. Bump’s goal was assisted by Jake Richard and Kieran Cebrian. Tanner Adams scored his ninth goal of the season with less than six minutes to play to give Tri-City five consecutive goals. The goal was netted at 14:19 of the 3rd period, and was assisted by Graham Gamache and Evan Werner. The final goal of the game was scored by Sioux City’s Sam Deckhut with less than seven seconds to play. The goal was scored on the powerplay, and was assisted by Ben Doran and Tyler Hotson. Tri-City outshot Sioux City 16-4 in the 3rd period, and 33-20 overall in the game.

Patriks Bērziņš turned away 18 of Sioux City’s 20 shots on net to record the victory in goal for Tri-City. Croix Kochendorfer dropped the game in goal for the Musketeers after making 28 saves on 33 shots.
