KEARNEY – The 47th-ranked Northeastern State RiverHawks took the doubles points and won a three-set match at five singles to slop past 44th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Harmon Park.This was UNK’s first outdoor home match of the spring. They host nationally-ranked Central Oklahoma on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Lopers (11-9, 2-3) are now 1-4 in matches decided by a 4-3 score.Playing it’s 10th national-ranked opponent to date, the Lopers saw Mexican junior southpaw Jazmin Zamorano move up to one singles and promptly upset 11th-ranked Emilia Cosatto (6-1, 6-4) in straight sets. However, Cosatto and a teammate won 6-2 at one doubles to secure a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard.UNK’s other points came at three and four singles as Madagascar sophomore Narindra Ranaivo improved to 15-4 in the dual season thanks to a 6-2, 6-4 with Colorado sophomore Alexis Bernthal having to go three sets at four (6-3, 3-6, 6-2). Finally, NSU won in straight sets at two and six and won a key match at five (3-6, 6-1, 6-2).
