A fatal crash occurred in Merrick County Sunday night.
According to a Merrick County Sheriff’s Office news release, emergency crews were called 10:50 p.m. Sunday to a reported crash on US Hwy 30 between 20th Road and 21st Road.
Upon arrival, it was determined that an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet Colorado pickup left the roadway and entered a ditch, rolling several times.
The driver and lone occupant was identified as Brice Gravert, 18, of rural Central City who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alcohol, drugs, and speed are not believed to be a factor in the accident. Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the accident.
The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Clarks Fire and Rescue Department, the Central City Ambulance, Central City Fire Department, and Lone Tree Towing.
