KEARNEY – The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight’s final road game of the regular season in a rivalry matchup with the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. Tri-City will return home tomorrow night to host Fan Appreciation Night & Boy Scout Night in a combined promotional game to conclude the regular season. The Storm will host the Sioux City Musketeers for a Best-Of-Three Series at the Viaero Center on Monday, April 24th, Tuesday, April 25th, and if necessary, Wednesday, April 26th for the opening round of the 2023 Clark Cup Playoffs. Puck drop for tonight’s road game between the Storm and the Stars at the Ice Box is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (32-30-4-4) will finish as the Western Conference’s 4th place team with two games remaining in the 2022-2023 regular season. The Storm enters the final weekend of the regular season on a brief four-game losing skid following last weekend’s back-to-back losses to the Des Moines Buccaneers at the Viaero Center. Tri-City’s shutout loss on Saturday night marked the first time since November 27th, 2019, in a 1-0 loss to the Omaha Lancers that the Storm has been held off the scoreboard in a home game. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering the final two games of the regular season include Jake Richard (31), Trevor Connelly (23), Graham Gamache (19), Evan Werner (18), and Kieran Cebrian (16). Tri-City holds a 4-6-0-1 record in head-to-head matchups against Lincoln this season. The Storm is 30-12-1-2 in battles against the Stars over the last five seasons.
Lincoln (37-19-3-1) enters the final two games of the regular season in a battle with the Waterloo Black Hawks for 2nd place in the USHL’s Western Conference standings. The Stars are the only team in the league to win eight of the last ten games, and currently trail the 2nd place Black Hawks by one point. Lincoln completed a two-game road sweep of the league-leading Fargo Force last weekend at Scheels Arena. The Stars have clinched a victory in the season series against the Storm for the first time since the 2016-2017 season. Scoring leaders for Lincoln entering the final two games of the regular season include Tanner Ludtke (32), Doug Grimes (24), Mason Marcellus (19), and Keaton Peters (16).
