A Washington man was arrested following a multi-fatal crash in Furnas County Thursday.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, on Thursday at 12:15 p.m. a northbound Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling on Highway 283.
At the same time a westbound Dodge Ram 3500 pulling an empty car trailer traveling on Highway 89 failed to stop at a stop sign at the Highway 283 intersection and struck the passenger side of the Hyundai.
A passenger of the Hyundai, an adult woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four additional people in the Hyundai were transported to hospitals in critical condition.
One child patient flown to Good Samaritan has since passed away.
The driver of the Hyundai, and two other child patients remain in critical condition. Names are being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
The two occupants of the Dodge were transported and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following hospital release, the driver of the Dodge, Kyiaz Ulanov, 28, of Lynnwood, Washington, was arrested for motor vehicle homicide. He was lodged in Phelps County Jail.
The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting a full crash reconstruction investigation.
