Six Nebraskan’s were recently recognized for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month.
The ceremony was held at the Thompson Alumni Center on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus May, 1.
Approximately 130 people attended the ceremony recognizing Nebraska State Senator Rita Sanders, Dr. Joanne Li, Dr. Deepak Gangahar, Hong Zheng, Huong Truong, and Sung Jo.
Congressman Don Bacon recognized the six for the economic, social, and cultural fabric impact they have had on the 2nd District of Nebraska.
Organizations present included: Indian Association of Nebraska, Vietnamese Friendship Association, Korean Association, Filipino Heritage Foundation, and the Nebraska Chinese Association.
