Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen signed LB 574 into law today.
The bill restricts gender affirming care for minors under 19 years of age and includes a 12-week abortion ban amendment which goes into effect immediately.
“Today is a historic day in the State of Nebraska. It is a day where we are standing up and protecting our kids so that they can have a better and brighter future.” said Pillen.
The bill passed final debate on Friday, May 19 on a 33-15 vote.
