A four-hour hearing with the Grand Island Public Schools board has left a middle school finances teacher out of a job.
The school board voted unanimously Tuesday to end Philip Zlomke’s contract. Zlomke was placed on leave more than a year ago as a result of multiple felony sexual assault charges placed against him in two separate cases, some victims including minors.
School administrators all agreed that it would not be safe to allow Zlomke to return to the classroom due to the several felony counts. The unanimous decision to end Zlomke’s contract was effective immediately.
