OMAHA – Jase Blattner drove in six runs on two hits, leading the Kearney Runza Seniors past the Sheridan, Wyo. Troopers 10-2 in the first matchup of Day Three of the Creighton Prep CWS Tournament on Friday.
Blattner had the biggest day yet for the Runza Seniors, smashing a grand slam to left field in the fifth inning adding in four runs. He also doubled in the fourth, bringing in two more runs.
Kearney scored eight runs in the big fifth inning on the way to a victory. Bryce Andersen singled and scored a run, while Karter Lee added a double that scored three runs.
Rhett Mundorf earned the win for Kearney on the mound, allowing four hits and two runs over five innings. Mundorf had four strikeouts and walked three.
