Over the weekend, an inmate died at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.
Floyd Martin, 88, passed away while incarcerated at the facility. Martin began his sentence in 2008 for second-degree sexual assault of a child and was serving 35-40 years.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has stated Martin’s death has not been determined but was being treated for a medical condition at the time.
A grand jury will be investigating per protocol when an inmate dies in the custody of NDCS.
