KEARNEY – The Runza Seniors battled back from a four run deficit to earn win No. 15 on Thursday night, claiming a 6-5 victory over Lexington at Memorial Field. Click here to listen to the broadcast replay.
Kearney (15-14) won scoring six runs on seven hits with two errors, while Lexington Pinnacle Bank (10-12) fell scoring five runs on nine hits with no errors.

The Runza Seniors could not claim the lead until late in the contest. Lexington opened up with scoring in the first inning, having Daven Naylor single that added two runs. Lexington continued their scoring in the second with an error from Kearney leading to a Jase Carpenter single scoring one.
Kearney began their rally with a Jase Blattner double in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game. The Runza Seniors had added a run in each inning beginning in the second to creep back in the contest.

Bryce Andersen’s ground out in the sixth scored an additional run to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth.
Derrick Nonhof handled the rest for Kearney, sitting down the final two batters to finish the game in a 6-5 win for Kearney.

Brodie Arnold earned the win for Kearney, surrendering three hits and one run over two innings while striking out two and walking one. Rhett Mundorf earned the start for the Runza Seniors, giving up five hits and four runs over four innings while striking out six.
Kearney now resets on Friday before traveling to Papillion-LaVista South on Saturday for a doubleheader at Titan Field.
