A Kearney Woman was sentenced on methamphetamine charges.

In federal court Friday, Amanda Kay Jensen, 31, was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine. Jensen will serve a 3 year supervised release following her sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.

In December 2021, authorities found evidence of methamphetamine in trash left out for collection at Jensen’s residence in Kearney. A state search warrant for her residence was obtained and executed.

Jensen told officers she had five grams of methamphetamine in a safe in her room and gave them the combination. Jensen admitted to officers of purchasing methamphetamine and selling small amounts to other people.

In the safe, officers located two and one-half grams of methamphetamine with a digital scale.  Additionally, officers also found a baggie containing at least 13 grams of actual (pure) methamphetamine in Jensen’s bedroom.

This case was investigated by the Central Nebraska Drug & Safe Streets Task Force, including investigators from the Nebraska State Patrol, Kearney Police Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
