Kearney Police along with the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety will have additional officers working on Saturday, July 15th for Cruise Nite. Officers will focus on alcohol violations including Minor In Possession, Open Container, and DUI. The goal of the effort is to reduce impaired driving and related accidents.
A parking restriction will also be in place as a result of Cruise Nite events. Downtown parking is prohibited starting 2 am Saturday, from Central Avenue from 25th no North Railroad Street. 24th, 23rd and 21st street from Avenue A to 1st Avenue will be closed as well.
