GRAND ISLAND – The A7 District Senior Legion Baseball brackets were released on Tuesday afternoon. Area teams will compete Friday through Tuesday, as Tuesday’s contest will determine the district champion.
The top overall seed went to Hastings Five Points Bank, followed by Grand Island Home Federal at No. 2. Third seed is the North Platte Nationals, followed by the Runza Seniors of Kearney, Lexington Pinnacle Bank, Grand Island U-Save Pharmacy at No. 6, and the Scottsbluff WESTCO Zephyrs at the seventh spot.
First round matchups begin at Ryder Park on Friday, with Kearney facing Lexington at 1 PM. The contest will be broadcast on 1340 KGFW, 96.1 FM, on the free KGFW mobile app, and online at KGFW.com with Austin Jacobsen on the call. Pregame coverage is set for 12:45 PM.
The winner of the Lexington/Kearney contest will face Hastings Five Points Bank on Saturday at 2 PM. The loser would receive a bye until Sunday.
