The Kearney Public Works Department announces, on behalf of Dan Roeder Concrete, that 56th street, between Avenue K and N will be closed to all traffic starting at 6am today July 20.
The closure will be for reconstruction of the west side of the 56th and Avenue N intersection.
Traffic on Avenue N will be reduced to one lane in both the north and south directions.
56th Street will remain open east of Avenue N. Work in the intersection is scheduled to take approximately 3 weeks.

Citizens are urged to use alternate routes and avoid the area when possible. Truck traffic should avoid the 56th Street and Avenue N area.
