Marco Trevino // Tri-City Storm

KEARNEY – The Tri-City Storm has named Marco Trevino an Assistant Coach ahead of tomorrow’s Home Opener at the Viaero Center. Trevino has assisted the Storm with scouting and personnel matters over the past two seasons, and joins the organization following a multi-year stint behind the bench as a Head Coach and Skill Development Professional with the Pittsburgh Penguins Youth Program (U16).

Marco Trevino, 39, of Beverly Hills, Michigan, played three seasons of junior hockey in the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks and Sioux City Musketeers (2001-2004). Trevino played two years of minor professional hockey before moving into various coaching roles. Prior to joining the Penguins Youth Organization, Trevino served as a Coach for the Detroit Victory Honda and Detroit Little Caesars organizations for twelve years. Trevino’s family includes his wife, Keila, and three sons Tristen (17), Messier (14), and Bernie (4).

I am excited to get to Kearney and get behind the bench with this group of talented players. I am very lucky to be working alongside and learning from Head Coach Anthony Noreen. The situation couldn’t be more ideal for my coaching development. I’d like to thank Anthony Noreen and Jason Koehler for this opportunity. My family back home in Pittsburgh has sacrificed a lot for me to live out my dream of coaching in the USHL.”- Assistant Coach Marco Trevino

Marco Trevino is someone who has worked for us on the scouting side for the last few years. His passion and knowledge for the game, along with his ability to connect with young men will make our staff and players better. We welcome him to Tri-City and look forward to working with him every day.”- President of Hockey Operations/Head Coach Anthony Noreen

Marco Trevino has been a loyal outside staff member for the last two seasons, helping our club through scouting and player personnel matters. During this time, I have had a chance to spend numerous hours talking about the game and players with him, and it was very apparent he had a desire to coach at the junior level. He understands the jump to this level, as well as teaching and developing young players, after the last few seasons being involved and coaching at the AAA/youth level. The door which has opened up, will allow Marco to join the Storm and he will provide a fresh voice and perspective to our team and staff moving forward.”- General Manager Jason Koehler
