Undefeated Ravenna moved on in the 8M-D1 playoffs Thursday night with a 56-26 victory over Neligh-Oakdale. The Bluejays improve to 9-0, while the Warriors season ended at 4-5.
Neligh-Oakdale started off strong, capping a five minute drive with a Bryson Gadeken 1yd TD rush. Ravenna would quickly respond however, with a Grady Rasmussen 37 yard rushing touchdown of his own, adding the 2pt conversion.
Two Warrior turnovers would quickly build the Bluejays lead. A Neligh-Oakdale turnover on downs turned into a Gavin Reisbeck 3yd rush TD, and an interception would send Reisbeck airmailing a touchdown pass to Chace Rager from 16 yards out.
The Warriors would get within six, with a Corbin Hoefer 2yd TD Rush. Rasmussen would respond for Ravenna just a minute later with a 54 yard rushing socre, and would intercept a Warrior pass before halftime deep in Bluejay territory.
Ravenna would push the game out of reach in the third quarter, adding two more touchdown passes. Reisbeck would find Rager for a 37 yard score, and then Reisbeck would take it in himself from 35 yards out to put the game to a 30 point spread.
Ravenna started off the fourth quarter with an interception, and Neligh-Oakdale only needed one play to capitalize, with Gadeken connecting with Colson Krebs for a 33 yard touchdown.
The Bluejays would respond two minutes later through Rasmussen, picking off his second of three Warrior passes. Reisbeck would only need one play to turn the takeaway into points, hitting Caden Larsen for the score. Rasmussen would take a 34 yard rushing touchdown to the house after his third interception.
Gadeken would socre in the final minute of the Warriors season with a 4 yard run before Ravenna would kneel out the remaining seconds.
