KEARNEY – Long-time Kearney resident Jason Peck announced his intention to run for the KPS Board of Education. Peck stated “I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Kearney Public Schools Board of Education. With a deep passion for education and the development of our future leaders I am excited to bring my decades of experience and public service to this highly important role.”

Peck has spent 25+ seasons as a volunteer coach of Varsity Football, Legion Baseball, various YMCA sports, and Travel Softball. He has served on the City of Kearney Planning Commission which has allowed him to obtain valuable experience and insight that would transition directly to the Board of Education.

Along with his coaching experience he has extensive knowledge within the Facilities world; maintenance, new construction, and remodels which would benefit KPS to have a fresh set of eyes on the everchanging needs of facility upgrades and energy savings which lead to financial savings. He looks to bring a sense of collaboration to the Board. If elected, he would bring a fresh outlook and looks forward to the opportunity to work with the seasoned, current members of the Board. His goal is to take an already stellar School District and help make it even better and inclusive for all students that attend.

Peck looks forward to engaging with every voter by hearing all the concerns that surround all our buildings and sharing his vision for a better future for our District. Peck looks forward to visiting with all stakeholders in the KPS footprint and earning their vote.
