KEARNEY — The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce took to social media to warn area businesses about the circulation of counterfeit currency in the community.
“It has come to our attention through various reports that there has been an increase in incidents involving the circulation of counterfeit currency within our town,” the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) stated.
It was noted that these counterfeit bills can pose a significant threat to the local economy and financial security.
“We urge all members of the community, especially business owners and cash-handling professionals, to exercise heightened caution when accepting cash payments. It is essential to be vigilant and employ proper authentication measure to detect counterfeit bills,” stated KACC.
