SEWARD CO., NE – A Fairbury man died from an ATV rollover accident.
According to the Seward County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday May 18, at 8:58 p.m. deputies responded to an ATV rollover on 413th Road, south of Pioneer’s Road.
A preliminary investigation found that Corey D. Smith, 46, of Fairbury, was traveling southbound on 413th Road when the ATV left the roadway, and drove up an embankment.
SCSO says Smith lost control of the ATV, which rolled and pinned him underneath.
He was transported to Friend Community Hospital and then to Bryan West Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
The SCSO is investigating the accident. Beaver Crossing Fire/Rescue and StarCare Medical transport provided assistance.
