KEARNEY – The Kearney Misko Sports Seniors continued their dominant run in their home invite over the weekend, downing Grand Island U-Save Pharmacy 9-1 Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, Kearney improved to 3-0 in their Misko Sports Invite, including two wins on Saturday over Lincoln Northwest and Scottsbluff.
The Misko Seniors capped the weekend outpacing their opponents 32-5.
Kearney earned the home win scoring nine runs on eleven hits with one error, while Grand Island U-Save scored one run with five hits and three errors.
Rhett Mundorf took the win for Kearney, working three innings allowing five hits, one run and punching three strikeouts. Charlie Loofe arrived in relief, going two innings allowing one walk with a strikeout.
U-Save’s Hernandez took the loss for Grand Island, dropping in three innings allowing ten hits and six earned runs.
Kearney’s bats continued their strong weekend as well, included Jacob Hansen’s 3-3 day with three RBI. Kole Throckmorton contributed two RBI, while Kaleb Larson and Mundorf also added an RBI.
The Misko Seniors now await their rematch with the North Platte FNBO Nationals at Bill Wood Field on Tuesday, June 25. The Pinnacle Bank Post 52 Juniors begin the action at 5 PM with the Seniors matchup set for 7:30 PM.
