GRAND ISLAND – A Doniphan man facing criminal charges resigned from the Grand Island Fire Department on Sept. 25, according to Spencer Schubert, communications manager for the city of Grand Island.
Jared Stockwell, 47, of Doniphan is accused of sending sexual messages to a 13-year-old girl.
Stockwell is charged with enticement by an electronic communications device (Class IV felony) and committing intentional child abuse with no injury (Class IIIA felony) for a July 1 incident.
“Due to this being a personnel issue, the City of Grand Island will have no further comment regarding Mr. Stockwell or his case,” Schubert said in an Oct. 3 email.
Stockwell’s arraignment in Hall County District Court will be at 9 a.m. Oct. 22.
