KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Utilities Department announces a transition of closed lanes to the southbound outside lane of 2nd Avenue between 35th Street and 33rd Street beginning Monday, Oct. 14 at 8:30 a.m. for water valve replacement work.
Additionally, the westbound lane of 33rd Street will be closed from 2nd Avenue to the entrance of Kearney Clinic (211 W. 33rd Street). Westbound traffic on 33rd Street, east of 2nd Avenue will need to turn north or south onto 2nd Avenue. All lanes are planned to be reopened by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 weather and construction permitting.
Motorists are asked to use caution in the area and to watch for construction workers and equipment. If an alternate route is possible, we recommend that motorists use the alternate route.
