HASTINGS — Hastings Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire Thursday night, Oct. 17, in the detached garage at 715 S. Franklin Ave.
Firefighters were dispatched at 10:32 p.m. and had the fire under control within 15 minutes of arrival. The last unit was cleared at 12:20 a.m., Friday.
The garage has been determined to be a total loss.
The fire has been determined to be accidental in nature.
A passerby reported the fire. The owner was home and got all pet dogs out safely from the garage, which also included a kennel.
The City of Hastings Street Department, Hastings Police Department and Hastings Utilities also responded to the incident.
No injuries were reported and no other damages were reported.
