KEARNEY — Per unofficial results, Alex Straatmann, Jonathan Nikkila and Kurt Schmidt are posed to take the three open seats on the Kearney city council.
According to the most recent results from Buffalo County, Alex Straatmann earned 8,425 votes, 28.3 percent; incumbent Jonathan Nikkila got 7,648, 25.6 percent and Kurt Schmidt, 5,502, 18.4 percent.
The other candidates were Shawna Meyer who earned 5,440, 18.2 percent and Bryce Nelson, 2,739, 9.1 percent.
