GRAND ISLAND — With more and more drivers hitting the road for the holiday shopping season, the Grand Island Police Department is issuing a friendly reminder to buckle up.
GIPD has been awarded $10,514.53 to carry out Selective Overtime Enforcement for the “Make it Click” seatbelt mobilization campaign from November 23 – December 1. The enforcement will target seatbelt usage to help reduce fatal and serious injury crashes in Nebraska, Hall County and Grand Island.
In total, GIPD officers will work an additional 138 hours of traffic enforcement for the effort.
