KEARNEY — Glenwood Elementary students sang festive songs and presented homemade ornaments to residents at the Central Nebraska Veterans’ Home during the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 11.
There were around 25 students from the 1st and 2nd grade who sang several holiday themed songs for a gathering of the residents.
Following the singing performance, the students handed out homemade holiday ornaments, made by the students, to each of the residents who were in attendance.
“Our students and staff are excited to bring joy to the veterans during the holiday season and create meaningful connections through music and thoughtful gestures,” said Tracy Schall, Principal of Glenwood Elementary.
“This initiative reflects the district’s commitment to connecting students with the community and showing appreciation for those who have served our country,” according to Kearney Public Schools.
