HASTINGS — The City of Hastings Street Department will close 12th Street to through traffic between Eastside Boulevard and California Avenue, and California Avenue to Elm Avenue, beginning Wednesday July 23 to allow water department crews to clear tree roots from sewer mains.
The closures are anticipated to be one day each for Eastside Boulevard to California Avenue (Wednesday) and California Avenue to Elm Avenue (Thursday). The exact duration of the closures depends on how long it takes to complete the work.
Side streets along the closure area will also be closed for one block closest to 12th Street during work in that specific area.
Local traffic will still be able to access residences in the closure areas.
The perimeter streets – Eastside Boulevard, California Avenue and Elm Avenue – will be open to through traffic. Fourteenth Street will be used as a detour.
