HASTINGS — The Hastings Museum invites local creatives, musicians, and curious minds to join its upcoming Songwriting Workshop, a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the fundamentals of songwriting in a hands-on environment with the talented Talbott Brothers.
Whether you’re just beginning your musical journey or looking to take your skills to the next level, this session offers valuable insights and hands-on guidance across three core areas: songwriting, the business of music, and social media. Musicians of all ages are invited to join us at the Hastings Museum on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 6:30 pm.
Led by an established musical duo, the workshop will guide participants through the creative and business process, offering practical tools and techniques to turn ideas into compelling songs and how to build a successful foundation in today’s ever-evolving music industry.
Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or something to take notes with and come prepared to create, share, and connect.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who loves music and wants to try their hand at writing a song and learn from real musicians,” says Curator of Education, Russanne Hoff. “Whether you’re a high school student, a longtime music lover, or someone just looking to try something new, this workshop is for you.”
The event is open to the public, and registration is required as space is limited. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased online, in person or over the phone.
This workshop is part of the Museum’s broader commitment to offering dynamic and educational programming that brings the community together. The Hastings Museum continues to serve as a hub for culture, learning, and creative exploration in South Central Nebraska.
