A busy recruiting week for Nebraska women’s basketball cranked into high gear Saturday with the commitment of 2026 four-star recruit Ashlyn Koupal from Wagner, S.D. Koupal joins a 2026 class that added Maddi Stewart, a guard from Claremont, Okla., earlier in the week. Top-100 recruit Ava Miles from the Kansas City area had previously committed to NU.

Koupal is the No. 9 recruit in the nation according to 247Sports, and the No. 31 recruit in the class of 2026 according to ESPN.com. For Wagner Community Schools in South Dakota, Koupal averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game last season. The 6-foot-2 forward chose Nebraska over TCU, Michigan State, Duke and Kansas.

She joins Maddi Stewart in the class of 2026. Stewart visited her homestate Oklahoma before committing to the Huskers. The 5-foot-9 guard plays for Lincoln Christian School in Tulsa, Okla., and averaged 14 points and six rebounds per game. She is a three-sport star who also plays softball and track.
