HASTINGS — The City of Hastings will hold a community open house, 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4 at Hastings Fire & Rescue Station 2, 1145 S. Hastings Ave, to discuss the City’s 2025-2026 budget.
First Ward Hastings City Council representatives Steve Huntley and Mike Anderson are hosting the event on Sept. 4. The First Ward includes South Hastings.
City Administrator Mark Funkey will present the proposed budget and discuss the process and work that goes into crafting the City of Hastings’ budget each year.
The City of Hastings fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. The Hastings City Council must approve the annual budget, with three readings, ahead of the start of the new fiscal year.
