COZAD — An 80-year-old woman was killed as the result of an accident that took place in Cozad on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, a Chevrolet Equinox attempted to turn left off eastbound Highway 30 onto a residential street in Cozad, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
The Chevrolet turned in front of a westbound cement truck and the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Linda Bubak, 80, of Cozad, was pronounced deceased at the scene, per NSP.
The driver of the cement truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital in Cozad. The crash remains under investigation. NSP was assisted on scene by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Cozad Police Department, and the City of Cozad.
