KEARNEY — On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Kearney Police Officers, members of the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, and CHI Good Samaritan Hospital Paramedics responded to a structure fire at 3706 Avenue M.
Upon arrival, responders learned that two of the three residents were able to escape the home safely. Tragically, one resident, a 69-year-old male was found deceased inside the residence.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office.
