GRAND ISLAND — Two women with active warrants in other Nebraska counties were arrested for burglary and trespassing respectively during the afternoon hours of Sunday, Nov. 23 in Grand Island.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 1:37 p.m., two individuals were reported to be on a property they did not have permission to enter.
Officers responded and one woman, Katelyn Simmons, was found to have entered the property and removed items. The other woman, Samantha Ruch, was located at the property and found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
A records check showed that Simmions had two active warrants, one in Hall County for a protection order violation and one in Adams County for littering. Ruch had an active Lancaster County warrant for theft.
Simmons was arrested for burglary and the two warrants; Ruch was charged with second degree trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrant.
