LOUP CITY — Over 700 customers in Loup City were without power for around ten hours on Thursday, Dec. 11.
According to the Nebraska Public Power District, a power outage that affected 711 customers in Loup City started at 7:46 a.m. after there was an issue with a piece of equipment at a local substation.
Due to the outage, Loup City Public Schools was released for the day, per the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office.
NPPD crews worked throughout the day, and most customers had their power restored at 5:35 p.m. Later, the remaining 43 customers had power restored at 7:20 p.m.
